One of the big problems with pet adoption is that many do not fully understand the responsibilities involved and often animals end up back in shelters. We aimed to employ technology as a means to help preventing pets from being returned and keep Austin's no kill ratio above its target - 95%.

This was my first solo freelance web design project, meaning I had no outside resources and had to figure out how to solve problems on my own.

PROJECT DESCRIPTION
This is one of the freelance projects I have designed, coded and shipped that is not currently under any kind of NDA.
It was very rewarding to help a new small business establish their initial web presence. I found that working with people who are just getting off the ground has a kind of excitement that tends to be very contagious. Also, it comes with a lot of responsibility.
Whitney Blunt and Mike Fishbaugh approached me a few weeks after founding their landscape architecture and planning firm, called Blufish Collaborative. They initially wanted to ask me about my availability for CAD drafting work, as that was my profession for many years. I told them about my transition into the UX field and they told me that a new website was at the top of their needs list, the rest is history.
